Buchanan used a come-from-behind victory to grab the No. 3 seed heading into round robin play in Eaton Park's Babe Ruth C division.
Down 8-6 in the top of the sixth inning, Tim Mosier hit a two-run double down the left field line to tied the game.
Steve Rough put Buchanan ahead for good in the top of the seventh with a two-run single.
Rough finished the game with three hits. Zach Powers, Jon Mondeschien and Mosier had two hits a piece.
Buchanan faces No. 2 seed Lawrence at noon on Saturday.
Howard Township No. 2 lost its game to St. Joseph 13-9 Thursday in Eaton Park's Peanut A division.
Howard Township held a 6-5 lead in the third before St. Joseph scored eight runs in the bottom of the inning to grab the lead for good.
Despite the loss, Howard Township collected 10 hits.
Brendon Meek turned in an unassisted double-play for Howard Township in the match.
