Lions’ Black and Blue practice open to the public

DETROIT -- The Detroit Lions' "Black &Blue" public training-camp practice at Ford Field will take place Sunday, Aug. 8. Doors will open at 3 p.m. for this one-time opportunity to watch Head Coach Steve Mariucci and the Lions prepare for the 2004 season.
Fans will have the chance to get up close and personal with their favorite players during the full-team autograph session, win Lions merchandise, get a look into the game with the on-field action and shop in "The Roar &More" team store for the new 2004 Lions Training Camp and Sideline gear, along with other Officially Licensed Detroit Lions Merchandise.
Free tickets to the event are being distributed starting Monday, July 26 at local ABC Warehouse stores, Big Boy restaurants and the 31 Metro Detroit Ford Dealers. With their free tickets, fans will have the opportunity to win an authentic jersey autographed by new Hall of Fame inductee Barry Sanders, along with other Lions merchandise.
To accommodate as many fans as possible, there will be a one autograph per-player limit, and due to time constraints, autographs will not be personalized. Fans will be permitted to take pictures, but photos with players will not be allowed. Autographs will be on a first-come basis and are not guaranteed.
For safety during Sunday's event, the following items are not permitted in Ford Field: aerosol cans, alcoholic beverages, animals (except assistive animals for people with disabilities), bags (grocery, duffle, backpacks, luggage, large purses, etc.-- 8 1/2" x 14" x 10" is maximum size for entry), balloons (air &helium), banners, beverages, cans &bottles, confetti or glitter, coolers of any kind (including small soft pack coolers), fireworks, food, hard objects that can be used as missiles or projectiles, illegal substances, large camera cases, liquids (bottled or boxed), laser pointers, noisemaking devices (bells, horns, kazoos, whistles, etc.), recording equipment (audio, visual, etc.), sticks, bats or clubs, tripods, umbrellas, weapons.
No weapons are allowed in the Stadium. Possession of a firearm or any other weapon is strictly forbidden. Possession of such a weapon will result in immediate confiscation, ejection and possible arrest.
