Buchanan opens Eaton Park tourney with victory

After severe storms delayed the opening of the Eaton Park Invitational on Wednesday, action resumed on Thursday with a full slate of games.
In action from Thursday night, Buchanan defeated Three Oaks, 15-4 in Little League B Division play.
Buchanan scored three runs in the first, five in the second and seven in the fourth inning.
Three Oaks scored a run in the first and three in the third to account for its runs.
Adam Byrdack and Tyler Ganus each had home runs for Buchanan. Ganus also had a single.
Buchanan got two hits from Tyler Powers.
Richie Reed struck out seven for Buchanan to pick up the victory.
Dowagiac will open up play tonight when it takes on Howard Township in Minor League C action at 6 p.m

Berrien Springs defeated Hartford, 11-2 in Pony League A play; Coloma/Hagar defeated North Lincoln No. 1, 15-6, in Minor League C play; St. Joseph edged South Haven, 5-4, in Peanut League A play; North Lincoln defeated Coloma/Hagar No. 2, 15-4, in Peanut League A play; Benton Harbor defeated North Lincoln No. 2, 16-2; and Bridgman defeated Hartford, 13-3, in Minor League B play.
In Peanut League B Division action, Berrien Springs blanked Three Oaks, 22-0; in Babe Ruth B Division action, Springfield defeated Bangor, 17-14; in Pony League B Division action, Bridgman defeated Berrien Springs, 16-2; and in Minor League B Division action, Bridgman defeated Hartford, 13-3.
