Bangor, K-Christian win Division 3 titles

Bangor and Kalamazoo Christian won the titles at the Division 3 Regional Track and Field Meet Monday at Constantine High School.
The meet was originally scheduled for Friday, but was postponed due to a power outage after severe thunderstorms Friday afternoon.
Bangor claimed the boys' title with 112.88 points, edging Berrien Springs which finished second with 107.88 points. Constantine took third with 73.88 and Schoolcraft finished fourth with 72.
Buchanan scored six points and Brandwine finished with four.
Kalamaozo Christian captured the girls' championship with 98 points. Schoolcraft took second with 66. Berrien Springs finished third with 50 and Constantine took fourth with 47.5.
Buchanan finished with six points and Brandywine scored one point.
Buchanan's Rodney Tembo finished fifth in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:46.5. He also took fourth place in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 10:19.13.
Buchanan's Brittany Harrington took third place in the long jump with a leap of 15-2.
Brandywine's Amy Konopinski took sixth place in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 5:58.67.
The Division 3 State Track and Field Finals will be held Saturday, June 5, at Comstock Park High School.
