NILES -- A Niles city official said this morning tickets to Monday afternoon's visit here by President Bush may already be gone.
A city official, who asked not to be identified, said tickets, being coordinated by the office of U.S. Rep. Fred Upton, were very limited and have already been earmarked for area Republican leaders and elected officials.
Upton's office would not confirm the status of tickets this morning and said they could not provide information about the availability of tickets. The spokesman said he has no information about when or where tickets could be secured, if any remain.
Upton confirmed on Tuesday that President Bush is planning a campaign event in Niles on Monday afternoon. Speculation has it that Bush will stop at Niles High School. However, that has not been confirmed.
The White House is still not confirming Bush is planning a stop in Niles on Monday. Niles city and Niles Community School officials have been meeting with represenatives of the Bush Administration, planning details of Monday's visit.
