EDWARDSBURG -- Visiting Niles put on its hitting shoes Wednesday afternoon in sweeping host Edwardsburg.
The Lady Vikings picked up their first two victories of the season with the sweep.
Niles took the opening game 4-0 and then pounded the Lady Eddies 10-2 in the nightcap.
Niles had four runs on five hits and took advantage of four Edwardsburg errors to square their season record at 1-1 in the opener.
Tasha Lary had two of Niles' five hits, while Stephanee Schrader doubled. Kayla Gross and Kate Whittaker each singled.
Kari Eckstein tossed a four-hitter with four strikeouts and a walk.
Jenna Bowman took the loss for Edwardsburg.
The Lady Eddies got singles from Shana Stoops, Jessica Simpson, Nikki Thompson and Melina Williams.
In the nightcap the Lady Vikings scored 10 runs on 11 hits.
Edwardsburg again made four errors.
Julie Kater earned her first victory of the season for the Lady Vikings with a seven-hit effort.
Kelli Kretchman (1-4) took the loss for Edwardsburg.
Niles scored three runs in the third, fourth and seventh innings and one run in the sixth.
Edwardsburg (2-11) plated both of its runs in the sixth.
Gross and Krystal Clark both tripled for the Lady Vikings, who also got a double and a single from Schrader.
Lindsay Cary and Kater each had two hits.
Edwardsburg got a double and a single from Samantha Fritsche and a double from Jessica Shotwell.
Bowman finished with two hits.
Niles will host Lakeshore on Tuesday in a Big 16 Conference West Division doubleheader.
The first game is slated to begin at 4:30 p.m.
