Deadline for applying for athletic director is May 7

The position of Athletic Director for Dowagiac Union Schools has been posted and applicants have until May 7 to file.
Requirements are a Bachelor Degree, evidence of strong organizational and planning skills, possess leadership and visionary skills, ability to recruit and motivate a large diverse coaching staff and effective communication skills.
The school district would also prefer experience playing/coaching multiple sports, experience working with a diverse student population, ability to develop and administer program budgets, ability to use technology effectively in the work environment including: Excel, scheduling programs, power point and budgeting, and visible and active within the school-community.
The starting date for the athletic director will be August.
Applications should be sent to Dowagiac superintendent Larry Crandall, Dowagiac Union Schools, 206 Main Street, Dowagiac, MI 49047.
The University of Notre Dame issued a statement on Wednesday concerning the remarks made by former standout and Heisman Trophy winner Paul Horning on Tuesday.
Horning has since apologized for those remarks, noting that he should have said "all student-athletes."
