Cooper Graphic &Creative Promotions won four games last weekend to win the Sixth Grade YMCA Championship held at Niles High School. The players were made up of boys from Ballard Elementary, Howard Elementary and two home-schooled students.
The squad played as a team and used a tenacious defense to capture the trophy. Coaches Tom Rattenbury and Mike Peterek) enjoyed coaching these young men over the last three years and watching them improve each and every game.
The Niles-Buchanan YMCA had close to 300 boys compete in grades 3-6.
After the sixth grade season, the teams have the opportunity to compete in a tournament where the first and second place teams earn medals and a trophy kept at their local elementary school for display.
