KVCC beats Owens in Kansas

Niles High School graduate Jami Grannell scored eight points and pulled down 10 rebounds for the Kalamazoo Valley Community College women's basketball team Thursday afternoon in an 89-80 win over Owens Community College at the National Junior College Athletic Association Tournament in Overland Park, Kan.
The Cougars recovered from a 45-33 halftime deficit to advance to the next round of action tonight against Scottsdale at 6 p.m.
