NILES -- Niles Main Street Initiative's Celebration Chair Benefit Auction will be held Sunday, May 2, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the new Niles Art Association Gallery, 306 E. Main Street
Local artists have donated more than 40 originally decorated chairs, stools, ladders and stepstools to be auctioned off in support of the Niles Main Street Initiative and the Niles Art Association.
Throughout the event, silent and spoken auctions will be conducted. The benefit gala will also include hors d'oeuvres catered by Dragonfly Catering and music by the Bill Nicks Trio. The gala aims to celebrate the progress made thus far in the renovation of many of the historic building facades in downtown Niles.
Beginning April 12, the artwork will be prominently displayed in and around downtown Niles. Part of the display will include the artist's statement and biographical information.
Tickets for the Celebration Chair gala will be available April 1 until the event. Cost is $40 individual, $75 couple. The public is urged to join local artists in this unique celebration.
Reservations will be limited to 250 individuals.
