The Central Middle School seventh grade volleyball team captured fifth place in a tournament at Edwardsburg on Saturday.
The Chieftains defeated Cassopolis 15-1, 15-13 (Tasia Diaz scored 20 points), lost to Coloma 5-15, 13-15 (Emily Primley scored 10 points), split with Buchanan 15-12, 6-15 (Brittany Gnatz tallied 9 points), and defeated St. Joseph 15-10, 15-8 (Primley scored 16 points)
On Monday, the seventh grade "A" team traveled to St. Joseph and recorded a 15-11, 6-15, 15-3 victory. Dowagiac is now 5-2 on the year.
Stephanie Grabemeyer, Emily Primley, and Katie Wood all tallied seven points each.
