Berrien hands Bobcats second conference loss

Brandywine's hopes of earning a share of the Lakeland Conference regular season volleyball title all but died Wednesday night an a 15-10, 15-12, 15-11 loss at Berrien Springs.
The Bobcats, now 15-8-9 overall and 3-2 in league play, find themselves trailing Edwardsburg, which remains unbeaten in the league, and two other teams with just one loss. Berrien Springs is one of those teams with a conference mark of 4-1 and an overall record of 14-7-6.
Emily Whitney paced Brandywine Wednesday night with 11 kills, 10 digs and three aces. Nikki Cooper had a team-high 11 digs as well as six kills and two aces.
Katie Tuohy helped out with five kills and two aces while Bridget Mitchell had 20 assists and seven digs. Nicki McGowen also had five digs.
Brandywine travels to Bronson for a tournament on Saturday.
