Barr helps beat his former team

Niles High School graduate Keith Barr nearly reached a double-double for the Northwood University men's basketball team Sunday afternoon in a 92-83 victory at Grand Valley State.
Barr, who began his college basketball career at Grand Valley before transferring to Northwood, started at Guard for Timberwolves and scored 11 points while pulling down nine rebounds in 22 minutes of action. Barr also handed out four assists.
Northwood dominated the boards in the second half, outrebounding the Lakers 28-12. The Timberwolves also shot 58.1 percent from the floor and had a season-high 30 assists.
Northwood, which is 11-9 overall and 5-6 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play, returns to action Wednesday at home against Saginaw Valley State at 7:30 p.m.
