Miller leads Ferris State to easy victory over Mercyhurst in GLIAC play

The Ferris State University women's basketball team improved to 13-5 overall and 8-1 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon with an 83-47 win over Mercyhurst (0-16, 0-9).
Niles High School graduate Erin Miller paced the Bulldogs with 17 points in addition to her six rebounds, four assists, two blocks and one steal.
Molly Potvin added 13 points for Ferris while Lucy DeMartin scored 12 and Kristin Reinhart pitched in with 11.
Game-high scoring honors went to Mary Clare Harlan who poured in 22 points for Mercyhurst. Jody Sabo also scored 10.
Ferris led by just five points, 30-25, at halftime but outscored Mercyhurst 53-22 in the second half.
The Bulldogs return to action Thursday with a home conference game against Northwood at 6 p.m.
