The newly-expanded and remodeled main building at Dowagiac Conservation Club will be the site of the seventh annual Hunter's Rendezvous on Saturday from noon to 5 p.m..
The event is designed to be a gathering of experienced hunters, conservation and wildlife organization representatives and youth hunters for the purpose of educating the public about conservation issues.
Admission to the Hunter's Rendezvous is free. Money is raised by selling deer camp chili and hot dogs for a $4 donation.
Atkinson added, "In addition, money is raised through the silent auction. Area businesses and conservation organizations have donated items to be auctioned off during the Hunter's Rendezvous, including limited-edition prints, hunting equipment and hunting apparel, to name a few."
Conservation organizations such as Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, the Rocky Mountain Elks Foundation, Michigan Trappers Association, the National Wild Turkey Foundation and Michigan Bowhunters will have information booths at the Hunter's Rendezvous.
"There will be informational brochures available from each group explaining the organization's role in protecting wildlife and their habitat," Atkinson said.
