Prosecutor: ‘Ringleader’ in Niles home invasions pleads guilty

CASSOPOLIS -- Five criminals terrorized elderly citizens of Michiana last spring and summer by committing scores of armed robberies and home invasions.
One of the "ringleaders," Dejuan Lowe of South Bend, Ind., met justice in Cass County on Monday, pleading guilty as charged to all 19 felony counts pending against him with the understanding that his sentence would be 27 years in prison for the commission of these offenses, Cass County Prosecutor Victor A. Fitz announced Tuesday.
Sentencing for Lowe, 26, is set in front of Cass County Circuit Judge Michael E. Dodge for 8:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 13.
