Bobcats reach title match at own event

The Class D No. 6-ranked Mendon Hornets went undefeated and won the Brandywine Volleyball Invitational Saturday, edging the host Bobcats 25-10, 25-10 in the title match.
Brandywine finished the day with a 2-2-2 record, with both losses coming against the Hornets.
The Bobcats will host River Valley in a Lakeland Conference match Wednesday night at 6 p.m.
Katie Tuohy was Brandywine's top hitter Saturday, tallying 24 kills. She also had a team-high 10 blocks. Nikki Cooper added 20 kills to go along with 19 digs.
Emily Whitney had 62 assists, 27 digs, 17 kills, eight aces and seven blocks.
Kelli Zache helped out with 16 kills and 18 digs while Bridget Mitchell had 21 assists and five aces.
Ashley Antus added 14 digs and Nikki Martyniuk had seven blocks.
