NILES -- Employees from the City of Niles stopped by the Fort St. Joseph Museum on Friday morning to wish a happy birthday to long-time employee Lucille Riland.
Riland, who has lived in Niles for the past 28 years, recently celebrated her 85th birthday.
Her actual birthday was on Dec. 31, but due to health concerns she was unable to celebrate the monumental event until Friday.
Riland has been greeting visitors as the museum receptionist for ten years now.
Baimbridge said Riland's dependability is much appreciated.
Riland has only missed a handful of days in her 10 years of work at the museum.
In addition to greeting visitors, Riland also answers question about the museum and helps out around the office.
Riland has had six children, three of whom live in Niles.
She began her career as a beautician and has went on to have a variety of jobs from there. Before coming to the museum, she was the head of child care at the Knollwood Country Club for five years.
At the age of 85 most people have long been retired, but not Riland.
