Lake Michigan wins league opener

The Lake Michigan College men's basketball team opened up Michigan Community College Athletic Association play Wednesday night with a 75-62 win over Ancilla.
The Indians, now 8-5 overall, got a double-double from Niles graduate Corey Thacker with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Adam Shepherdson, also a Niles graduate, led the team in scoring with 16 points. Desmond Favors, also of Niles, helped out with 14 points.
Cassopolis graduate Anthony Curry scored six points to go along with five rebounds, five assists and five steals.
LMC returns to action Saturday at Glen Oaks Community College with a women's game at 1 p.m. and a men's contest at 3 p.m.
