Bucks bounce River Valley

The Buchanan varsity volleyball team improved to 4-7-3 on the season and 1-1 in the Lakeland Conference with a win at River Valley Wednesday night.
The Bucks won the first game 15-12 before falling 11-15 in the second game. Buchanan then came back for wins of 15-12 and 17-15 to seal the victory.
Ashlee Layher led the Buchanan hitting attack with 24 kills. She also had three aces. Holly Tibbs added 11 kills while Ali Bender paced the defense with 14 digs. Bender also had 32 assists.
Michelle Johnson helped out with 12 digs while Jaclyn Mummaw had eight digs.
Heather Lentz and Rachelle Weldy had seven digs apiece. Lentz also served two aces.
The Bucks return to action Saturday at the Bronson Invitational.
