Niles’ Christmas tree disposal to begin next Monday
NILES -- As the new year approaches and Christmas fades away, the time has come for Christmas trees to be taken down.
The City of Niles is helping residents to dispose of them with their Christmas tree recycling program.
The Street Department will begin the annual program in the City of Niles on Monday, Jan. 5, weather permitting.
Trees must be stripped of all ornaments, lights, tree stands, and other decorations. They should not be left in plastic bags or they will not be picked up.
They must be placed at the roadside by no later than Sunday, Jan. 4.
Only one trip around the city will be made.
The program will begin in the first ward and then continue through the second, third and fourth wards.
