Dreher, Bryant stand out

NILES -- Niles High School sophomore Sarah Dreher and Buchanan junior Gordon Bryant are the Niles Daily Star Athletes of the Week for Dec. 8-13.
Dreher is a member of the Niles varsity volleyball team which opened its season with a runner-up finish at its own tournament on Saturday. Dreher led the Vikings with 40 kills, seven blocks, 18 digs and five aces.
Bryant is a member of the Buchanan varsity basketball team which won a pair of non-conference games last week. In a 78-54 win over White Pigeon, Bryant led all scorers with 25 points. He also scored five in a 52-38 win over Lake Michigan Catholic.
