SMC Turkey Trot Nov. 23

Southwestern Michigan College is hosting its 37th annual Turkey Trot on Sunday, Nov. 23.
The race holds the distinction of being Michiana's oldest race. It was founded by the Roadrunner Track Club of Southwestern Michigan College in 1967 and is conducted on SMC's Dowagiac campus trails.
An 8K (5-mile) run, a 5K (3.1-mile) run or walk and a one-mile fun run will begin at 1 p.m. at the Zollar Sports Center.
Ribbons will be awarded to the top five finishers in 34 different divisions. Special awards will be given to SMC students and alumni.
T-shirts commemorating the run may be purchased.
The event is free and no advanced registration is necessary.
Registration will take place from noon to 12:45 p.m. on the day of the race at the Zollar Sports Center.

Thanksgiving Day Run
The Niles-Buchanan YMCA and First Source Bank are currently taking registrations for the Thanksgiving Day Run, which will take place on Thursday, Nov. 27.
Save money by registering today as entry fees for this event will go up on race day.
There will be a 10K run, a 5K run and a one-mile fun run.

Volunteers are needed to help with the Thanksgiving Day Run. Your help is needed with race-day registrations, race course traffic control, hospitality table and much more.

All volunteers will receive a commemorative long-sleeved 2003 Thanksgiving Day Run T-shirt.
Organizations such as service clubs, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts troops, school groups and church groups are encouraged to make it a group volunteer project.
