14 hopefuls seek pageant crown

NILES -- This year's Miss Niles/Brandywine pageant will be held this Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Niles High School auditorium.
The theme is Hometown Heroes. Tickets are available for $8 in advance from the contestants, and will also be available at the door for $10. The Miss Niles/Brandywine chairperson is Linda Schultz.
Here are the 14 hopefuls vying for the crown:
She plans to transfer to a university in two years and major in criminology. She received the Quill &Scroll Award for journalism in 2001 and the 2002 scholarship from Miss Niles/Brandywine. She has been active in band for six years and often attends Granger Community Church.
She has been active in 4-H for 13 years and enjoys singing, dancing, and being with her friends.
