Creighton Scarpone scored his first regular season goal of his Junior A hockey career Saturday night in Fargo, N.D.
Scarpone, a defenseman from Buchanan, is in his rookie season with the Fargo-Moorhead Jets Junior A Hockey Club of the North American Hockey League.
His first goal of the regular season came late in the third period which at the time tied the game against the Billings (Mont.) Bulls at 4-4. His parents, Jim and Kim Scarpone, were on hand to witness their son's first regular season goal as a Junior A player.
Creighton was signed by the Fargo-Moorhead Jets last spring, after the Prospects Hockey Tournament in Toronto, Ontario, where he participated as a member of the U.S. Hockey News team.
Prior to joining the Jets, Creighton skated the past two seasons for the IMG Hockey Academy in Bradenton, Fla., and continues to train at the IMG Academy in the offseason.
A high school senior, Creighton attends high school in Moorhead, Minn., and will return to The Pendleton School in Bradenton after the season ends. He intends to play Division I college hockey after his Junior A career.
