NILES -- If Niles senior linebacker Stacy Caskey looks like he's having a good time on the football field, it's because he is.
Caskey's hard work has been a thrill for the Niles coaching staff, but a fright for Viking opponents.
Through the first eight games of this season, Caskey was leading the team with 74 solo tackles, 48 assists, four tackles for a loss, two caused fumbles and two recovered fumbles.
With the numbers he has put up this year, Caskey obviously has the skills and talent necessary to be a team leader. But, according to Janicki, Caskey also has a work ethic worth looking up to.
Caskey's hard work has paid off in a big way this season, for him and for the entire team. The confidence he has in himself has rubbed off on the whole squad and that, by itself, has made him an invaluable part of the team's chemistry. Caskey has the swagger of a player who knows what he's capable of and who is confident he can do what it takes to win.
