Seyfred leads Bees over Brandywine

Bridgman's Heather Seyfred scored 39 points as the Bees beat Brandywine 79-58 in Lakeland Conference basketball action Tuesday night.
Melani Demler added 13 points for Bridgman which improved to 8-2 overall and 4-2 in league play.
Emily Whitney paced Brandywine with 16 points and Kalie Newman added 14 before fouling out.
The Bobcats, wich are 4-6 overall and 2-4 in the Lakeland Conference, led 16-10 after one quarter of play and still led by six at halftime.
Bridgman outscored Brandywine 51-24 in the second half.
The Brandywine junior varsity basketball team beat Bridgman 61-53 to improve to 7-2 overall and 6-0 in the league.
Kelli Zache led the Bobcats with 15 poitns and Heather Knuckles added 11. Rachel Batman and Nikki Martyniuk each scored nine.
Brandywine returns to action Thursday at Buchanan.

Buchanan evened its Lakeland Conference record with a 47-39 win over Edwardsburg Tuesday night.
The Bucks, now 5-6 overall and 3-3 in the league, trailed 19-17 at halftime but outscored the Eddies 30-20 in the second half.
Ashlee Layher and Holly Tibbs led Buchanan with 12 points apiece.
Jessica Shotwell led the Eddies, which slipped to 2-9 overall and 0-6 in Lakeland play, with 13 points. Jessica Neagu added 10 points.
