The Niles junior varsity soccer team dropped a 3-2 decision to Sturgis Tuesday evening in a Southwest Michigan Athletic Conference crossover match.
Kyle Sherwood scored the first goal for Niles off a rebound of a shot by Julian Freas.
C.J. Rumpf scored the Vikings' other goal off an assist from Freas.
Niles led 2-0 at halftime but then gave up three goals in the second half.
The Niles junior varsity soccer team is 3-2-1 on the year and hosts Portage Northern today in another SMAC crossover match at 4:30 p.m.
