Man arrested for assault, outstanding warrants

NILES -- A man was arrested in Niles on Sunday pending charges of alleged assault and battery.
Matthew Allen Driver, 26, 419 N. Ninth St., Niles, was arrested after police officers were notified Driver was at his residence allegedly preparing to leave, the police report said.
The officers responded to the location.
They found Driver, who was also wanted on two outstanding child support warrants, in an upstairs bedroom.
Driver was taken into custody and lodged at the Niles City Police Department pending Court appearance.
In other police reports :
Anthony Jasha Kunze, 32, 4655 Kimter Lane, Berrien Springs, was arrested after a police officer patrolling on South 11th Street allegedly observed a vehicle going north that allegedly had a head light out. The officer conducted a traffic stop and made contact with Kunze.
After searching the vehicle, the officer allegedly located several pills in a Marlboro cigarette packet.
Kunze was arrested and transported to the Niles Police Department where he was booked and lodged.
