Chieftain girls finish 7th

The Dowagiac girls' cross country team finished seventh at the Paw Paw Invitational on Thursday.
The boys' team finished 10th.
Amanda VanHusan was the lone Chieftain runner to garner a Top 10 finish as she placed ninth with a time of 22:28.
Kelly Garland was 17th with a time of 23:24, which earned her a medal. Alysse Cuthbert was 34th with Leah Dohm 48th and Jenny Key 55th.
Brad Lee was the top boy's finisher as he placed 20th with a time of 18:47, which earned him a medal.
Jason Tabbert was 26th, Andy Howard 56th, John Klapchuck 62nd, Chris Primley 63rd, Jacob Crowl 66th and Tony Saviano 67th.

"Our boys were shorthanded tonight and it showed," Dowagiac coach Ken Jordan said. "Brad Lee did keep his medal streak alive, having medaled in every invitational this year.
Dowagiac will open up Big-16 Conference West Division competition on Wednesday when it travels to Niles for the first jamboree.
The Chieftains will also compete in the Berrien Springs Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 20.
The meet is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m.
