NILES -- It has been 15 years since Bill Camp has had a dog like this.
Belle, a two-year-old Texas Heeler, and Camp will be travelling to San Francisco, Calif., on Wednesday, Sept. 17, to take part in the 2003 Hyperflite Skyhoundz Canine Disc World Championship.
Camp, who has been mostly involved in entertainment up until recently, is excited about Belle because she is doing so well at such a young age.
At right around 30 pounds, Belle has great speed and jumping ability, but her best asset, according to Camp, is that she catches more than 90 percent of the frisbees she goes for.
Camp and Belle finished second in the Open Division at the North Central Regional World Finals Qualifier, held in Indianapolis, Ind., on June 28.
The World Championship will be held Sept. 19-21 as part of the America's Family Pet Expo at the Alameda County Fairgrounds.
Camp and Belle will be one of 30 teams in the Open Division: Expert Class at the upcoming World Championship.
Camp feels Belle has a good chance to take home one of the top three places while in San Francisco, mainly because of her quick learning ability and her overall ability to do tricks most dogs can't.
The video of the competition is going to be sold to a yet-to-be-determined network and possibly aired sometime in the future.
