Vikes score sloppy win

NILES -- After a sloppy first half, the Niles basketball team settled down and cruised to a 53-25 Southwest Michigan Athletic Conference West Division victory over Lakeshore Thursday night.
The two teams combined for 32 turnovers in the first half. Niles committed just eight after the intermission.
The Vikings outscored the Lancers 22-2 in the decisive third quarter.
Sarah Dreher scored a team-high 10 points for Niles while Amber Peters added eight points, 10 rebounds, six assists and four steals.
The Niles junior varsity team beat Lakeshore 42-24, led by Jessica Shinsky's 12 points.
Niles hosts St. Joseph Tuesday.
