NILES -- Niles Police Department officers arrested a suspect for alleged armed robbery of the Niles Holiday Inn Express on Sunday.
The armed robbery occurred at 1:13 a.m. on Saturday when a white male, approximately 6'2" and 150 pounds, came into the lobby of the Holiday Inn, a police department press release said.
The suspect, identified by police as Timothy Britton Orrick, 41, allegedly pointed an object that appeared to be a gun through his shirt at the Holiday Inn night clerk and demanded money.
Orrick then allegedly fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Orrick was later arrested after police received a tip from a citizen about a suspect matching the description given to police regarding the armed robber.
After the arrest, Orrick was lodged at the Niles City Police Department with no bond.
Orrick will be arraigned at the South County Fifth District Court today around 1:30 p.m.
