Greater Niles Area Tourney returns to Plym Park

NILES -- Every year since 1957, Plym Park Golf Course has hosted the Greater Niles Area Golf Tournament.
This year will be no different, as the course will again host the event, scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 25-27.
The Men's and Ladies' tournaments will be held Saturday and Sunday, July 26-27, beginning at 8 a.m. each day. There is a $20 entry fee, plus greens fees and a cart if desired.
Men and women play 18 holes on each day and the scores of the two rounds are added for a total.
The Junior tournament will be held Friday, July 25, for anyone 17 and younger, beginning at 10 a.m. The entry fee for this tournament is $10 which includes greens fees as well as hot dogs and drinks following the tournament.
Juniors will play only on Friday, with the number of holes varying among the age groups.
Men's and women's winners will receive jackets while junior winners receive certificates.
Jim Butler is the defending men's champion. He was one of 80 participants in the 2002 tournament.
The deadline to register for the tournaments is Thursday, July 24.
