Howard Twp. All-Stars split first two at Hartford

The Howard Township 9-year-old All-Stars are 1-1 in tournament play at Hartford.
The 9-year-olds openened the tournament with a 3-6 loss to Lakeshore. Bryan Reed and Zack Webber each had two hits for Howard. Matthew McLaughlin, Cody Beers, Zack Fillwock, Tyler Fisher, Logan Harpenau, Luke Fifer and Jared Langmeyer each had hits.
Howard won its second game 12-0 against Dowagiac. McLaughlin went 3-for-3 at the plate. Beers went 2-for-3 with a home run. Reed and Alex Grishaber had two hits apiece. Taylor Campbell, Webber, Fillwock, Dallas Munger, Fisher and Harpenau each had hits. The all-stars had great defense and great team play.
The All-Stars will continue play at Hartford tonight at 6:30 p.m.
