Crash defeat Orange Crush to win Little League Major crown

Finishing regular season play last week Primley's Crash, sponsored by Dowagiac Auto Service, defeated Orange Crush, sponsored by McCanse Chiropractic 15-11 for the Little League Major Girls' Championship.
Tasia Diaz, picked up the win for the Crash by striking out six batters, while allowing three runs.
Pitching the final two innings, Joanna Pickar struck out three batters and walked 4. Diaz went 1-for-1 with a single and an RBI. Alex Dean went 4-for-4 with three singles, a double and 5 RBIs. Katie Wood went 1-for-2 with a homerun and 2 RBIs. Pickar went 1-for-2 with 3 RBIs. Marissa Tidey went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
Rounding out the defensive game were Emily Primley, Brooke Means, Sierra Starrett, Rebecca Mattix, Haely Davis and Megan Corey.
Pitching for the Orange Crush was Ashley Smith, who struck out three batters and walked five. Brittany Gnatz struck out seven, walked five and allowed six runs. Smith went 2-for-3 with a triple, a single and an RBI. Gnatz went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Stephanie Gross went 3-for-3 with a double and two singles and two RBIs. Brittany Hodge went 2-for-4 with singles picking up an RBI. Caitlin Courtney, Allie Hess and KC Collins each picked up an RBI while Jessica Miracle and Chelsea Whiteoak assisted on the defense.
