CASSOPOLIS -- Cass County Sheriff's Office of Emergency Management will conduct an emergency exercise next Tuesday, June 24, between 5:30 and 9:30 p.m. at the fairgrounds.
First responders from throughout the county -- including law enforcement, fire and EMS departments as well as representatives of Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital -- have been invited to participate.
This exercise will include extensive firefighter training (including controlled propane tank burns), widespread police activity and multiple ambulance runs.
Cass County residents should be advised that this is a controlled exercise and there is no cause for alarm.
In addition, emergency services will be fully staffed throughout the exercise period, while back-up personnel participate in this training.
Should an actual emergency occur and require deployment of back-up personnel, the exercise will be suspended immediately.
Questions regarding this exercise should be directed to Cass County Emergency Management Coordinator Bernie Williamson at (269) 445-8768.
