Cassopolis Days promises extertainment for all ages

CASSOPOLIS -- Cassopolis Days, presented by the Village of Cassopolis, DDA and Cassopolis/Vandalia Chamber of Commerce the weekend of June 28 , holds activities for every age.
On Saturday, June 28, the day will begin with three-on-three basketball at Sam Adams at 8 a.m. Then at 9 a.m. a 5K and 8K run will be held at the fairgrounds.
The parade downtown begins at 10:30 a.m., with the line-up at 10. There are three trophies for the best entries and three $25 gift certificates for the best decorated bikes.
The car show will run from 12 noon until 6 p.m. at the Cass County historic courthouse, at the same time there will be arts and crafts, downtown along Broadway.
Vendors are still wanted to sell collectibles, crafts or other items. It is a good way for non-profit organizations to make some money for their cause. Set up is at 9:30 a.m. and the fee is $20 for the day. Go to the Chamber of Commerce to apply or call (269) 476-1380 for more information.
Cassopolis is having its very own "Star Search" from 5 to 8 p.m. with contestants will be trying to win the three trophies for first, second and third place.
Entry is only $20. Businesses are encouraged to sponsor aspiring talent. All ages are welcome and costumes are encouraged. To register or to learn more, stop in to The Home Group on Broadway or call Sandy Swenor at (269) 445-2799.
The blues concert, from 8 p.m.-midnight will feature Joanna Martino, now a senior at Edwardsburg High School, who was a finalist on the show "American Idol." Her first public appearance had been singing the National Anthem at the Cass County Fair.
On Sunday, June 29, there will be a gospel fest at Sam Adams Elementary School from 2 to 6 p.m.
