Brandywine's baseball team split its first two games in the Penn (Ind.) Invitational, falling 10-0 to Valparaiso and beating Jimtown 7-4.
The Bobcats, now 14-15, will continue play in the Penn Invitational today.
Against Valparaiso, the No. 1 team in Indiana's Class AAAA, Billy Syrette, Aaron Holy and Matt Wieger had the only hits for Brandywine. Kory Bridges took the loss on the mound for the Bobcats.
Bridges then started the game against Jimtown, but Chris Carpenter picked up the win as he relieved Bridges. Zach Bennett then came on in relief of Carpenter.
