Vikings await St. Joe or Dowagiac

NILES -- The Niles varsity baseball and softball teams drew byes in the first round of the Division 2 District tournaments being held at Coloma High School on Tuesday, May 27, and Saturday, May 31.
The Niles (15-13) baseball team will await the winner of Tuesday's matchup between St. Joseph (24-3) and Dowagiac (17-12).
The Vikings will play in the first semifinal on Saturay at 11 a.m.
Lakeshore (17-6) and Coloma (18-6) will play in the other semifinal at 1:30 p.m. The championship game is scheduled for 4 p.m.
The bracket is the same for the softball tournament only the times on Saturday are swapped.
Therefore, the Lady Vikings (13-15) will take on the Dowagiac (29-2)-St. Joseph (23-10) winner on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
Lakeshore (24-6) and Coloma (16-14) will square off in the first semifinal Saturday at 11 a.m.
The championship game is set for 4 p.m.
