Cassopolis finally wins first game

The Cassopolis varsity baseball team picked up its first win of the season on Saturday at the Watervliet Tournament.
Jason Rietveld tossed a two-hitter in the Rangers' 9-1 win over Grace Christian. He also had two doubles and four RBIs.
Cass lost in the championship game to Watervliet, 10-0. Corey Gadacz took the loss.
Eddies baseball
The Edwardsburg varsity baseball team swept a pair of non-conference games games from Bridgman on Monday.
The Eddies are now 15-10 on the season.
Anthony Peak earned the mound victory. The Eddies finished seven hits, led by Brian Bortz's two doubles. Edwardsburg also got doubles from Zach Rooney and Jesse Johnson.
In the second game, Ben Horton was the winning pitcher. Edwardsburtg had nine hits, including a double from Jon Muff. Bortz finished with three hits.

Dowagiac Invitational
Anthony Peak had three hits and Nathan Peak, Zach Rooney and Ben Horton two each for Edwardsburg which defeated Dowagiac for the second time in three contests.
The Eddies defeated the Chieftains, 8-7.
Comstocks, ranked No. 8 in Division 2, needed eight innings to defeat the Eddies in the championship game. Anthony Peak had four hits and Nathan Peak, Scott Mellen, Jesse Johnson and Jon Muff two each for Edwardsburg in the title game.
