Niles 13s start season 2-1

The Niles Junior Baseball program debuted last weekend in league play in Kalamazoo by winning two of three games.
This new team, made up of 13-year-old players from the Niles area defeated the Kalamazoo Rockets 14s 7-4, defeated the Kalamazoo Rockets 13s 5-2, and lost to the Kalamazoo Panthers 12-7.
Against the Rocket 14s, Jamie Simpson, Dan Holland, D.J. Wolnick and Paul Dreher had RBI singles while David Ralston got the win with strong relief help from Jake Ferguson and Wolnick.
In the victory over the Rocket 13s Holland recorded the win with relief help from Wolnick. Alex Welch, Simpson, Nick Fedore and Ralston had RBIs for Niles.
In the loss to the Panthers, Kyle Prak, Dreher and Wolnick each had two hits while Fedore took the loss.
The Niles 13s return to play this week with games against Watervliet today and a doubleheader in Kalamazoo on Saturday.
