Two games decided by the mercy rule took place at Brandywine's baseball field Monday afternoon, but there was no sweep of the doubleheader.
Visiting Coloma won the first game 11-0 in six innings before the host Bobcats won the second game 12-2 in six innings.
The back-and-forth series left Brandywine with an overall record of 4-14 and a league mark of 2-6.
The Bobcats could not hit Coloma pitcher Adam Vawter in the first game, connecting on just one hit. The Comets, meanwhile, sprayed 14 hits off Brandywine pitchers Kory Bridges, Matt Wieger and Chris Carpenter.
Charlie Beutter, Brian Rogers and Erich Biggart each hit a home run for the Comets in the first game. Bobby Edelberg, Boven, Beutter and Vawter all hit doubles as well.
Zach Bennett earned his first pitching victory for Brandywine in the second game. He gave up just four hits.
Josh Atwood and Andy Low each homered for the Bobcats in the nightcap with Low's homer proving to be the game-winner. Matt Koller added two hits while Billy Syrette hit a double and had three RBIs. Carpenter and Casey Udell each had two RBIs.
The Bobcats travel to Buchanan Thursday afternoon for another Lakeland Conference doubleheader at 4 p.m.
