NILES -- The City of Niles Fire Department was called to a fire Sunday evening at 9:30 p.m. at 411 Pokagon St.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found the bed of a truck, owned by John King of Niles, on fire.
The fire melted the siding on the home near where the truck was parked in the driveway.
Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control with the use of extinguishing foam.
The contents of the bed of the truck, which included scraps of wood and other trash, was all that was lost.
An onlooker said, because of firefighters' quick actions, the truck itself was saved.
Another large truck, also parked in the driveway, was not damaged.
Other than the melted siding, no other damage was sustained in the blaze.
