The Brandywine baseball team picked up its first win of the year in a Lakeland Conference doubleheader Tuesday at Edwardsburg.
The Bobcats won the opener 3-2 but could not complete the sweep and suffered a 13-8 loss in the second game.
Kory Bridges earned the pitching victory for Brandywine, which is now 1-11 on the year. Zach Bennett took the loss in the nightcap.
Casey Udell and Bridges each doubled in the first game as did Edwardsburg's Zach Rooney. Rooney also took the pitching loss in the opening game.
Billy Syrette hit a triple and Matt Wieger hit a double for Brandywine in the second game.
Anthony Peak earned the pitching victory for the Eddies. Nate Peak, Jesse Johnson and Ben Horton each hit a double in the second game for Edwardsburg, which is 8-5 on the season.

Buchanan swept by Mustangs
The Buchanan baseball team gave River Valley a battle in the first game of Tuesday's Lakeland Conference doubleheader but was quickly dismissed in the nightcap.
The Bucks managed a pair of hits against River Valley's Clay Frye in the first game but suffered a 4-0 setback. Mark Dohn took the pitching loss for Buchanan. Josh Wahlstrom and Eric Brelowski had the two hits for the Bucks.
In the second game Buchanan managed five hits but could not stop the Mustangs' offense and took an 11-1 loss in five innings. Raymond Payne took the loss for the Bucks. P.J. Pollock had a double while Brelowski and Taylor Johnson each had one hit.
