BUCHANAN -- Following a 6-0 shutout in the first game of a non-conference doubleheader Friday against Dowagiac, the Buch-anan baseball team looked as if it might pull off an upset in the second game.
The Bu-cks rallied for eight runs in the fourth inning but then allowed the Chieftains to score five times and walk away with a 16-11 win.
For Dowagiac (11-3), overcoming a deficit was nothing new.
Chris Singleton (2-1) and Brandon Zachary (3-0) earned the pitching victories for Dowagiac. Josh Wahlstrom (0-2) took both losses for the Bucks which dropped to 2-5 on the year.
After just two hits in the first game the Bucks' bats came alive for 11 hits in the second, led by a triple from Wahlstrom and a double from P.J. Pollock.
