NILES -- The Niles Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People plans its annual Freedom Fund banquet on Saturday, April 26, beginning with a hospitality hour at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m.
The event will be held at the Niles Inn and Conference Center, 930 S. 11th St., Niles.
The theme of the evening is "Honoring our past, embracing our present and and empowered for the future."
Keynote speaker for the event is Mrs. Chandra J. Johnson, assistant to the president, The University of Notre Dame.
The program includes musical entertainment, as well as the recognition of a number of graduates of the 2003 who will be present.
The banquet is open to the public with tickets $25 for adults and $12.50 for children under 12. Reservations are encouraged and can be made by calling Chairperson V. Webb at 683-5086, G. Boggs at 683-3873 or S. Wilson at 684-0595.
