The Niles golf team opened its season with a narrow loss to non-conference opponent Gull Lake at Orchard Hills Country Club Thursday afternoon. The Vikings dropped a 242-249 decision to the visiting Blue Devils.
Lauren Sheldon led Niles with a score of 57. Rachel Willis added a 60 while Jenna Semrinec shot 65 and Chelsea Benjamin shot 67.
Niles returns to action Tuesday at home against Three Rivers.
