Buchanan High School senior Jennifer Klutts has announced her intent to attend Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio, in the fall of 2003 to continue her academic and softball careers.
Muskingum is an NCAA Division III school and a member of the Ohio Athletic Conference.
Newberry's teams have been nothing short of spectacular the past five seasons. The Lady Muskies posted an overall record of 208-41, an 81-7 record in the conference and earned the right to host the OAC Tournament by finishing atop the regularseason standings.
Muskingum has swept through the Ohio Athletic Conference regular season adn tournament, and earned the No. 1 seed and hosting rights for the NCAA Central Region tournament in four ofthe last five years.
In 2002, the Lady Muskies led all Division III teams in home runs (48) and doubles (97). Muskingum also ranked second in the nation in fielding percentage (.971), second in slugging percentage (.550) and fourth in winning percentage (.833).
Newberry has led the Muskies to 12 NCAA regional appearances.
