The buzz through the Niles Athletic Boosters, Niles athletics, coaches, parents and fans is the upcoming raffle/dinner dance presented by the Niles Athletic Booster Club. This event is sponsored solely to benefit young athletes in the Niles Community Schools.
Booster's Bash For Cash is set for Saturday at the Michiana Party Hall at 2809 S. Eleventh St. in Niles. The Bash begins at 6 a.m. with cocktails followed by dinner and dancing. You must be 21 years old to attend. There will be a silent auction, 50/50 and Black Jack throughout the evening.
Anyone who is interested in obtaining tickets for the Bash may do so by contacting Tammy Watson at 683-8247, or Janice Schuelke at 684-8566. The athletes and the Boosters appreciate your support!
Aside from the Bash, the Boosters continue to remain busy with the concession committee that works the concession stand during athletic events. These proceeds go to the athletes. The spirit committee is ongoing providing yard signs to athletes for the sport they are participating in each season. Seniors actually get to keep their yard signs. Fundraising by individual team sports is also ongoing.
Membership to broaden our reach to increase parental involvement remains a priority. The newsletter publicizes what the athletes and the Boosters are doing throughout the year. Funding projects reflect the Boosters' longterm goals and plans to benefit the athletes of Niles High School. This is a milestone they continue to work and save for. With funding projects in mind, the Boosters plan for the future of Niles athletes.
The Niles Athletic Boosters Club will meet on Wednesday, April 16, at 7 p.m. in the NHS Cafeteria. A slate of officers will be presented at this time to be voted on in May. We look forward to seeing the Boosters at this meeting.
